On 24 February 2003 an application for the then Temporary Business Entry (Class UC) 457 (Business (Long Stay)) - Independent Executive Visa was lodged at the Australian High Commission Business Centre (UK) for Mr. Richard Fowlston and his wife to establish a business in Victoria, Australia: on 26 June 2003 visas granted. Note, the Independent Executive category of visa ceased on 1 March 2003

"Independent Executive" Subclass 457 Business (Long Stay) visa application granted July 1998 to establish a new business in Australia. A detailed business plan with submission prepared and faxed to the Australian High Commission in Ottawa, Canada resulted in visa approval the same day. Note, from 1 March 2003 this Subclass 457 (Business (Long Stay)) visa ceased to be available to a first time “Independent Executive” (IE) applying offshore.
