United Nations Security Council Resolutions Regulations

The UNSCR Regulations have been amended by SRs 402, 403 and 404 of 1997, all of which commenced on 24/12/97. The regulations provide that:
- persons designated by the United Nations as senior officials of UNITA, or as adult members of their immediate families, are not to be granted an Australian visa; and if they have been granted a visa in the past, such visas may be cancelled (SR 404 of 1997);
- persons designated by the United Nations as members of the military junta in Sierra Leone, or as their adult family members, are not to be granted an Australian visa (SR 402 of 1997); and
- Iraqi officials and members of the Iraqi armed forces who have not complied with UN Security Council Resolution 1137 (1997) are not to be granted an Australian visa (SR 403 of 1997)
