Visa Mistake Highlights Immigration Flaws

An investigation by the Commonwealth Ombudsman into the handling of a visa application has found procedural deficiencies within the Immigration Department.
The department refused a man’s partner a visa in 2008 despite a Migration Review Tribunal decision that she had met the requirements.
